Two more announcements about upcoming exhibition reviews:
‘Not All Documents Are Records’ at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool, 5 July – 19 October
This exhibition explores the question “Can photography be the site where the history of an exhibition is produced and still retain its independent artistic autonomy, thus overcoming pure documentation?” http://www.openeye.org.uk/main-exhibition/not-all-documents-are-records-photographing-exhibitions-as-an-art-form/
‘Conflict, Time Photography’ at Tate Modern, 26 November – 15 March
This exhibition is timed to coincide with commemorations of the First World War centenary. It investigates the relationship between photography and sites of conflict over time.http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/conflict-time-photography
I’ll also be completing my texts in response to the Alfred Watkins collection of photographs and glass plate negatives held at Herefordshire Museum and Library. The text will be included in the exhibition of artist works in each tour venue and potentially within a future publication based on the Outrider project.
