Over the next few weeks I’ll be working on a number of new pieces of writing.
These include reviews of the Hannah Collins exhibition of photographic works at Camden Arts Centre and a review of Mat Collishaw’s large exhibition opening in September at New Art Gallery Walsall, co-commissioned by GRAIN, both for Photomonitor.
I’m delighted to be writing an exhibition text for ‘Conversio‘, a solo exhibition by Małgorzata Dawidek Gryglicka opening on 2 September at Centrala. Małgorzata has been in residence for 4 weeks and will present new works made alongside communities of female migrants within Birmingham.
Alongside writing artist statements for a couple of new clients – a female painter and a female sculptor – I’m also getting ready to head down to SLUICE art fair to write about AfterCarl, a project conceived by Birmingham-based artists Andre de Jong, Andrew Lacon and Cathy Wade. This piece will be published on this is tomorrow.
